Black turtleneck: Lands’ End | Jeans: Madewell (Poshmark – similar) | Boots: Louise et Cie (Poshmark – similar) | Jacket: Iro (TheRealReal – similar)
I believe that a fitted black turtleneck deserves a special place in every girl’s closet. It is an essential layering piece.
In this post, I will share three different ways you can style a basic black turtleneck.

You can wear this outfit to a casual brunch or maybe a date of strolling around the city. The heels on these boots are low, making them perfect for a leisurely walk. I firmly stand by Louise et Cie’s quality. I have three pairs of shoes from the brand, and each pair is so comfortable and of durable.
Iro jackets dress up any outfit, making it classier. They can be expensive, but you can always find some affordable options on TheRealReal or Poshmark.

Black turtleneck: Lands’ End | Suede skirt (Poshmark – similar) | Boots: Louise et Cie (Poshmark – similar)
Next is a simple work outfit. It features the same pair of boots I wore in the outfit above styled with a suede midi skirt that I found on Poshmark (I linked a pleated version from & Other Stories) and, of course, the basic black turtleneck.
If you’re like me and tend to not fuss with accessories, this simple and chic look is perfect for you!

Black turtleneck: Lands’ End | Jeans: Madewell (Poshmark – similar) | White button up: thrifted (men’s shirt) | Jean jacket: thrifted | Boots: Franco Sarto Carlson Combat Boot
This is one of my favorite looks I’ve styled so far.
By pairing an over-sized white shirt over a fitted black turtleneck and topping it off with a jean jacket, I was able to create a visual interest with the pieces’ varying lengths and silhouette.
I scored these Franco Sarto combat boots during DSW’s Black Friday sale, and I am so glad that I bought them. They are so comfortable and lightweight! Because they are not clunky at all, they really help to elongate my legs. Believe me, I need all the help in that department since I’m only 5’2”.
