We see a lot of deep, rich colors, gray and neutrals during fall and winter, but I felt compelled to incorporate bright colors into my outfits.
Don’t get me wrong, I love rich colors and neutrals, but I’m a firm believer that bright colors have an uplifting effect on your mood.

While yellow is typically a spring/summer color, I winterized the look by layering multiple pieces up top.
Remember my last post on styling a fitted black turtleneck?
Well, here’s a bonus way! By layering a white button-up shirt like this over the turtleneck and topping it off with a blazer, you can layer up for warmth without having to deal with unsightly bulk.

Black turtleneck: Lands’ End | Blazer: Ralph Lauren (Poshmark – similar) | Skirt: Halogen x Atlantic-Pacific | Shoes: Franco Sarto Carlee Platform Oxford
For this look, I styled this pleated skirt – from Blair Eadie’s collection with Halogen – with the same Ralph Lauren blazer as above. I think the structured fit of the blazer creates a nice contrast with the flowy fit of the skirt.
Have fun. Shop your closet. Find some brightly-colored pieces and create fun looks to bring you some cheer during these wintry days.

Love both ways you styled that blazer with some much needed color to keep away those winter blues!
