Frugal Finds Fab-ruary Recap & March Makeover

thrifted, suit, vintage, monochromatic look, sustainable fashion, secondhand, preloved

I know, I know. We’re several days into March. I’ve been busy with work and school. School, especially, has been mercilessly kicking my butt. I have to say, though, struggling with my course load is serving as a great distraction from online shopping. LOL

Because of how busy I’ve been with school, I managed to wrap up Frugal Finds Fab-ruary without much difficulty. In case you didn’t have a chance to read the post on my February project, below are the terms I set for myself for the entire month:

  1. Shop within a set clothing budget of $150.
  2. Only purchase preloved/secondhand pieces.
  3. Share the price of each and every item I purchase.
  4. Put whatever funds I have left in the $150 budget into paying my car loan.

Click to see how I did!

In February, I purchased only three items. I’ve worn two out of the three purchased items numerous times, styled in a number of ways, which you’ll see below:

Adidas Cloudfoam Advantage Sneakers

Paid: $30.00 + $6.49 Shipping – $0.55 redeemable credit = $35.94

Banana Republic, adidas, cloudfoam, sneakers, affordable, outfit, menswear, Atlantic-Pacific, Halogen, sustainable fashion

White mockneck top: Banana Republic (similar)| Pants: Atlantic-Pacific x Halogen | Coat: LOFT (old) | Shoes: Adidas Cloudfoam Advantage (similar Poshmark finds)

Halogen Wool & Angora Cowl Neck Sweater

Paid: $25.00 + $6.49 Shipping = $31.49

Halogen, adidas, cloudfoam, sneakers, affordable, outfit, Levis, sustainable fashion
thrifted, vintage suit, adidas, cloudfoam, sneakers, monochrome look, affordable, outfit, sustainable fashion

Sweater: Halogen (Poshmark find) | Striped Suit: thrifted (suits) | Shoes: Adidas Cloudfoam Advantage (similar Poshmark finds)

Theory straight leg trousers

Paid: $20.00 + $6.49 Shipping = $26.49

Unfortunately, I don’t have any picture of outfits I’ve styled with the pants because they’re a bit too tight right now. I can zip them up, but I just don’t like the way they fit at the moment. I’m still in the process of losing weight, so I’ll share looks with the pants once they fit better.

At the end of February, I had $56.08 left over from my budget of $150. I made an additional payment of $56.08 toward my car loan. It is a small amount, but it feels good to make progress toward paying off my loan.

March Makeover

For March, my goal is to give my wardrobe a bit of a makeover. There are pieces I want to add to my wardrobe like a pair of black trousers (ones that fit better than the ones I currently have) and white slingbacks. These are just two of many LOL. That’s why I am calling this month’s project March Makeover. Like February, I will:

  1. Shop within a set clothing budget of $150.
  2. Share the price of each and every item I purchase.
  3. Put whatever funds I have left in the $150 budget into paying my car loan.

Since I am looking to add a variety of pieces to my wardrobe, I decided to remove the term of shopping only preloved/secondhand pieces. I will try my best to shop secondhand and/or thrift, but I may have to purchase pieces from retailers. If that happens, I will only purchase from brands that have sustainable practices.

Thank you for reading!
